Angie or Diane will most likely be the CrossFit instructor you have seen in CrossFit. But what is Marguerita exactly? How can you do her "Girl WOD?" Continue reading to learn! I will be reviewing CrossFit and giving you the scoop on this "Girl workout".

Angie

CrossFit's absolute benchmark is the "Angie” workout. A benchmark allows a person to gauge their progress since their last performance. A person who improves in an Angie is generally fitter and more athletic than when they began. This workout is a great way to track muscular endurance and strength increases. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. For the exercise, you will need to have a pull-up and space for a push up.

Diane

Diane is the benchmark workout. It combines heavy deadlifts with handstand pushups. This is a more technical movement in gymnastics. This workout is challenging for your upper, core, as well as lower body strength. The weight of a deadlift for men is 225lbs, and the equivalent for women is just 155lbs. You do these movements for time, completing 90 reps. Diane was introduced in September 2003, but is not a new WOD.

The "Marguerita" benchmark WOD can be a rather bizarre workout. You will need to do 50 rounds of five movements, with one rep per movement. There are 250 transitions between each movement. While there are no rules for the WOD, there are many CrossFit athletes who swear by this workout. Marguerita, which means "Mary", is a Spanish translation of Marguerita. This has been taken to heart by the CrossFit community.


Diane is a “Girl WOD”

The names "The Girls", which you may have heard before, are familiar to most people. However, do you really know what they are? These workouts were named after CrossFit female athletes and are meant to push you to the limits. Here's a closer look at each one.
